Trolling Capt Sir Tom

It has come to light that before his death the family of Captain Sir Tom Moore were aware that he and his achievements were being negatively trolled. The efforts of the vile Trolls was kept from the distinguished old man for fear that it would break his heart.

This is disgusting. Who are these stupid people? So I have decided to add to my growing list of those deserving to be executed and include all those found guilty of dishonouring the memory of this brave trooper.

They will not be missed by decent folk. They are a blight on society.

Cybercrime

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has warned of an “explosion of risk” from criminals using digital technologies.

Could this be how civilised life on earth ends? The spread of the internet throughout the world and the seemingly natural ability of the young, in particular, to exploit every advance in online technology is a great leveller. It seems that each time financial institutions find a new level of security the mischievous and downright criminal find a way round them.

We are all dependent on the banks to keep our money safe but when people particularly the old and vulnerable find their accounts emptied, panic will set in. Normal order will cease as people, desperate to provide for their families, have no access to cash. House prices will plummet as people realise their net worth is diminishingly small. the people will turn on the Government with confidence in the institutions of state also plumbing new lows. Anarchy will quickly take hold and old grievances will be recalled as people with chips on their shoulders take advantage of the situation. Crime will proliferate and murders escalate. Gangs of the disadvantaged will roam the streets. Never will the phrase 'money (or the lack of it) is the root of all evil' seem more appropriate.

The irony of it is the newly pilfered money will itself become devalued and worthless leaving the guilty unable to take advantage of their ill-gotten gains.

It is clear that to make a lot of money one should work in the money industries. Never has it been more important for Governments to monitor how they operate and be suspicious of new developments such as cryptocurrency. They wouldn't have been devised for the good of mankind; they were dreamed up to make somebody a lot of money and therefore cause someone to lose money.

When does 'final' mean final

 When does 'final' mean final?

The Trump and Biden administrations have both indicated that the Supreme Court ruling that Mrs Sacoolas cannot be extradited to the UK to stand trial for the killing of Harry Dunne, is 'final'. But of course it is not 'final' for the family of Mr Dunne and nor is it 'final' for Mrs Sacoolas who has admitted in court her liability. Advised by the US government not to voluntarily return to the UK, she recognises her responsibilities to the Dunne family but she also aware she has a duty of care to her own young family. As has been said many times on this blog, Justice is often an impossible  illusion.

Surely it is not beyond the wit of man to find a solution to this tragedy!

Is it not possible for Mrs Sacoolas to stand trial in a UK court established in the grounds of the British Embassy or other agreed place.

Is it not possible that a plea bargain might result in a non-custodial sentence allowing Mrs Sacoolas to return to her family. Sadly, Mrs Dunne cannot return to her complete family but she will know that the defendant is not a risk to the public and is unlikely to reoffend. It will, however, bring some sort of closure; a 'final' result that everybody can accept.

Polymyalgia

Polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) is a condition that causes pain, stiffness and inflammation in the muscles around the shoulders, neck and hips. It is thought to be a problem with the body's auto-immune system. It is most common in the over 70's.

I contracted PMR, overnight, in the New Year of 2020. One night I went to bed with no symptoms and woke the following morning with every muscle in my body aching. Some, around the upper arms, were painful. A quick look on the internet suggested PMR and proposed a solution in the anti-inflammetry prednisolone. It also suggested that in many cases the disease would disappear of its own volition after a year.

Because of other, underlying, conditions I could not take an anti-inflammetry, relying only on paracetamol for pain relief. gradually as the summer moved on to autumn, the regions of pain gradually decreased until only the left arm, the biceps principally, ached.

Now, a year after the condition first appeared I can report that I am free of PMR, exactly as predicted.
